People Like Us
Season 3
I play Clarence in Season 3 of People Like Us.
The series was co-developed with Action for AIDS Singapore, and follows the lives of four gay men as they navigate life in Singapore.
It was nominated for ‘Best Short-Form Series’ at the 2020 International Emmy Awards.
Season 3 Episode 5 - ‘Pillar’
My character Clarence is a counsellor at The Greenhouse - which is a real trauma focused recovery centre in Singapore!
In this scene, Clarence and Isaac (played by Steven Lim) are meeting for the first time.

It was great to work with Leon Cheo.
This is a production still of Leon directing us in the kitchen scene of Season 3 Episode 6.
Leon wrote and directed all 3 seasons.
He’s a director I’ve admired for a long time, so I was really grateful to have the chance to work with him!
And it was a real treat to work with Steven Lim!
I’d seen him on Growing Up (like a lot people in Singapore) but never had the chance to meet till now.
Steven is an incredibly generous, sensitive actor. He brought authenticity and pathos to his portrayal of Isaac.
He’s also a real goof :)
In my experience, the best actors are the ones who don’t take themselves too seriously.
Season 3 Episode 6 - ‘Tangents’
