2009 was the first time we staged our all-male version of The Importance of Being Earnest. We won “Production of the Year” at the Life! Theatre Awards.

We’ve now performed this show a total of 5 times - In Singapore, Macau, and Brisbane. Our most recent staging was in 2020, at WILD RICE’s new home at the Ngee Ann Kongsi Theatre at Funan.

Oscar Wilde’s text is astoundingly brilliant, wickedly funny, and incredibly demanding. It never gets easier.

It’s always worth it! 

Playing the role of Algernon Moncrief over the course of 11 years, with this company and with this cast, has been one of the highlights of my career.
